"The lobstermen move on from trap to trap. They work quickly and check twenty, then fifty, then more than a hundred traps. The buckets fill up with lobsters and sea gulls fill up with old bait."
Aaa-oooooo. A foghorn blows in the still-dark morning. On the coast of Maine, another day of lobstering begins.

This morning Tommy sets off with his Uncle Russ on his uncle's lobster boat, the Nellie Jean, to help him check his traps. They measure the lobsters to see if they're big enough to keep (the small ones, and any carrying eggs, get thrown back). They put fresh bait in empty traps and replace the broken ones. After checking more than one hundred traps, it's time to head back to shore and sell their catch.

Lobster Boat depicts an intriguing way of life in which preservation of both an industry and the environment go hand in hand.
